A salute to the 8th March - 100 Years of Women in Dresden

Women's Day - no GDR remains - even in Dresden
on 100 years ago, 19 March 1911 (then still not on 8 March) is celebrated in Dresden for the first time the International Women's Day. In all districts meetings are held. The New Town women have no place, they meet in Pieschen . Then the women went over the Marie Bridge to the Old Market . They were carrying a white flag with the inscription: "We demand women's suffrage" Police officers marched on either side of the train. The police took on the identity of Rädelsführerin Klara Noack, to 100 marks fine or 5 days Detention has been condemned.

We wish all women (not only) in Dresden this year a lenient course - and all the best.
